Duties of the Disaster Manager
The duties of the Disaster Manager are to oversee and organise the operations of the medical and first aid service, the canine units, the available means of transport, and the experts who intervene to defuse hazardous plant and materials.
They also coordinate the operations of those who attend to the needs of evacuated populations, the firefighting teams, and the technical-scientific sector for the reactivation of plant and public works.

The Department of Emergency Training and Management of Istituto UNINTESS has launched the Master's in Disaster Management and Civil Protection. The aim of the Master's, developed along interdisciplinary lines, is to enable participants to acquire adequate preparation to understand, define and classify a major incident and to manage integrated relief efforts in mass emergencies.
